TO BE FRANK, i've never tried having dim sum in places other than those dim sum joint in hotels or chinese restaurants like Chui Heng (in Jln Imbi) or Oriental Pavillion (in Jaya 33).. *quite shameful to admit* Dont blame it on me, blame it on my daddy for my lack of food exposure..

I was kinda skeptical when Mr B suggested this apparently famous dim sum place at DJ, but i had to eat my words when i saw the long queue waiting outside, especially during the 5th day of CNY.. Everyone was still on holiday.. We were lucky because we were only waiting for a 3 seater.. Ting Seng whom i bumped into, waited for a good 30 mins for the big family group..

Jin Xuan Hong Kong Dim Sum

Full house to the max.
Check out the customer with high CNY spirit!! Wear cheongsam eat dimsum summore.. hehe
Very impressed with their level of hygiene..

The must-have for dim sum- "siew mai". Freshly made. *thumbs up for the good start*

Most important thing about dim sum is the quality of the har gao.. Generous with the portion of prawn but the chewy and thick skin of the har gao is a huge let-down..

Varieties is what Jin Xuan offers. From the traditional dim sum choices that we normally have -lo mai fan, fried radish cake, fried salad prawn, to their house specialty..

The rice was rather tasteless and the rice was slightly undercooked
The fried raddish was disappointingly bad as the taste was bland and too gooey.. EEeeeeKk!
The salad prawn was fresh and luscious shrouded by a thin and light skin which was fried to its crisp!! Best dipped in mayo sauce..

At the entrance of the shop, there's a session where you can help yourself with fried pastries..

House specialty- bread crusted prawn ball..
The crisp is so crunchy and addictively delicious, Highly recommended!!
The egg custard in the egg tart embedded in the flaky puff pastry is just sweet enough..
Picture not taken at the restaurant, but it's more like a DailyWear pic.. hehe =p
There are definitely hits and misses in their menu. Marked at a reasonable price, Jin Xuan DimSum is definitely a place to visit to satisfy your Sunday dimsum craving. It'll be better if you make reservations beforehand (though i'm not sure if they do bookings)
